Learn to play along, improvise, and truly understand
the music you love.
The problem
Most music theory apps are either boring textbooks or narrow trainers. You learn concepts in isolation but can't connect them to real music.Foolight teaches you to hear AND understand music theory - so you actually use what you learn.

Master notes, intervals, scales, and chords with integrated ear training. Start recognizing theory concepts in songs you already know. Each lesson you complete lights up a star in your night sky.

Just like real knowledge, your stars dim if you don't practice. This shows you what you actually remember vs. what's slipped away.

Daily practices restore fading stars. The app reminds you what needs review, so you spend time on what matters most.
Built for musicians, not academics – Learn concepts you'll use when listening or playing, listening, or writing music.Knowledge that sticks - Uses science-backed spaced repetition—you review right when you're about to forget. Review schedule adapts as concepts become second natureGamified learning - Watch your night sky fill with stars. Keep your streak, track your stats, earn achievement badgesEar training integrated - Every lesson includes listening exercises. Theory and ear training aren't separate—they work together like they should

ABOUT
I've wanted to learn music theory for years. To hear a song and know what's happening, to jam along without fumbling, and to improvise and actually sound like I know what I'm doing.I tried different apps, but they were either boring, too narrow, or taught theory I couldn't actually use when I sat down to play.So I decided to build something myself.Foolight is named after my dad. Foo (福) means blessing, good fortune. He passed away in October 2025.My dad was brilliant, but due to circumstances, he never got the chance to achieve what he was capable of. It pained me, and that's why I care about education - I want to help people reach their potential. If you've been looking for practical music theory that you can actually apply - I'm building it.Launching February 2026.
